Baby P’s Locally Grown Shower

Baby P’s Locally Grown Shower

Last week you got to see Baby P and hear all about his arrival into this world, but today we wanted to share how we celebrated him before his arrival with the shower Beth and friends helped throw Teal and Baby P.

We rave a lot on this blog about Beth’s sister, Kate, who is a website and graphic designer.  She has designed SO MUCH stuff for us! The header for our blog was done by her and some of the recurring headers for posts are designed by her just for us!  Well, Kate, helped throw this baby shower and she was the one who landed on the theme we would use for it as well.

The locally grown theme is SO Teal and was perfect for celebrating her little dude, so we ran with that theme and put together what we thought was a very cute shower!

Neither one of us (not that Teal would be making decos for her own shower) sew, but in our little group of girlfriends we have a couple of VERY talented ladies.  This is demonstrated by the cute bunting that was made specifically with Teal in mind.

There was so much delicious food at this shower too including taco bites, guacamole bruschetta, jalapeno pin wheels and mini cobblers in mason jars.  Special mention goes to the snack mix with goldfish because, well, there were goldfish in it!  And of course we had cupcakes and an awesome trail mix in mason jars in the blue crate as a thank you gift to all of the guests for coming and showering Teal and Baby P!

We missed getting a picture of ALL of the hostesses, but we did manage this picture!  There were also some more decorations that just didn’t get photographed. 🙁  But you might have noticed that Baby P hasn’t actually been referred to as anything other than Baby P. 🙂  There is good reason for this and also why not ALL of this shower is photographed.  Some things are better left a mystery right?!

The Great Gender Reveal

The Great Gender Reveal

By now you all know and have known that we both are having boy babies.  OK, fine, Teal had a boy baby and Beth is still growing her boy baby. 🙂  Yes, we are almost 3 months later giving you the details of the gender reveal that Beth’s sister, Kate, and sister-in-law, Tiffany, threw for her.  You see with the forces of Kate & Tiffany combined these parties slash events magically come together in the cutest of ways and we just HAD to share with the world what they did. We say magically, but really they are both just that creative so there really is no magic involved!

For privacy reasons we are sure you can understand that we cropped the very bottom part of the invitation Kate created out. 🙂

How cute is that table?!  They did such a good job and made so many yummy desserts for the event! But on to the main attraction –

See Beth’s bro in the corner of that pic face timing with some family who couldn’t make it so they could be apart of the big reveal!

A couple of excited grandmoms! 🙂

We think it’s safe to say these dudes are excited to have another boy in the family. We know they’ll be the best older cousins ever to Baby H!

It was such a fun night and thank you to all who came!!

#LiAR Throws a Party

#LiAR Throws a Party

Pretty sure in a recent post we mentioned that this entire year is just flying by for both of us!  Not only have we been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our babies (except now Teal’s is here!!), but we’ve also had quite a few friends also having their own major life events.  One of said friends is our dear friend, Bitner.  Now you’ve seen him before in race recaps because he’s also a runner and we’ve gone out to races with him (for example, Tour des Fleurs 2011, Rock n Roll San Antonio 2011, White Rock Marathon 2011, Tour des Fleurs 2012, Tour des Fleurs 2013 and some others that haven’t been documented on the blog).

Bitner and his partner were tying the knot and he had asked both of us to be Bridesmaids in his wedding, so we decided we needed to throw him a proper wedding shower before the big day.  Sadly Teal’s due date and Bitner’s wedding date ended up being within two days of each other so she would no longer be in the wedding 🙁 , but this was a great way to still be apart of the festivities for her.

We like to think we throw a darn good party and we kicked it off by Beth’s sister, Kate, designing us the perfect custom wedding shower invitation.  This is the part of the blog where we say WE LOVE KATE!! No, really we do! She’s such a talented graphic designer and can custom make pretty much anything!  If you are ever looking for invitations, announcements, cards, cupcake toppers, signs, water bottle labels, etc. Kate’s Etsy shop is where you need to go! Just look at this beautiful invite that is now apart of her etsy shop!

We went with gold & silver for the colors since that’s what the wedding colors are.  They’re just such classic colors – you can’t go wrong and obviously, Bitner did not!  Since everyone loves a good brunch we figured we would center the theme around that and also to make serving mimosas acceptable.  Although these days amongst this group of friends we pretty much think any celebration calls for mimosas. 🙂 Are we really that far off?

You might have already noticed but we opted to make a little photo booth for the shower too full of props and a cute background with a burlap love sign. Whoever it was that first thought up the idea of photobooths full of props at events such as these was a genius! They just add to the fun!  Just a little bit of the fun –

All in all it was a very fun day!  We loved getting to honor and celebrate Bitner and his upcoming wedding. Bitner received so many gifts that centered around hosting his own party at his house we debated just heading straight there to continue the festivities for the day. 😉

We would tell you, Steven & Chaz, that we wish you a lifetime of happiness, but we in fact know you have a lifetime of happiness together in store.  We love you guys!
