Advocare Ten Day Cleanse: What We’re Eating

The cleanse is actually very easy to follow in terms of what you can and cannot eat, and once you have that down, making meals is pretty easy.

These are the bulk of what Teal will eat for the 10 days.

For Breakfast I am drinking Shakeology. Yes I am cheating on Advocare with this one and not using their meal replacement shakes. *gasp* I like Shakeology way more. Shhhh don’t tell them!

Here are the three main meals I made to mix in as either lunch or dinner throughout the time.

1. Southwest Quinoa Salad  ( 5 servings)

Approximate Cost per serving: $4.15

Ingredients: 1lb of chicken breast, ½ of a large red onion, one can of organic black beans, 1 cup of organic quinoa (technically this is 2 full servings and will be split over 5 meals), cherry tomatoes, spinach, salt and pepper to taste.

2. Vegetable Tuna Salad  (6 servings)

Approximate Cost per serving: $1.68

Ingredients: 3 cans tuna, ¾ cup celery chopped, ¾ cup carrot chopped, ½ of a red onion, 1 English seedless cucumber chopped, 2 tablespoons mayo. ( this is 2 servings spread over 6 meals so this is ok)

Serve over salad or use a cucumber and mini sweet bell peppers instead of crackers to eat! They crunch so you just have to trick yourself!

3. Soup:  have no clue what to call this because it’s like 2 recipes combined (6 servings)

Approximate Cost per serving: $3.45

Ingredients: 4-6 cups low sodium organic chicken stock, 1lb chicken breast, 1 can organic gazpacho beans, 1 can organic corn, 2 tomatoes diced, one small white onion, 2 green bell peppers chopped, cilantro, 1 jalapeño chopped, juice of 1 lime, cumin, chili powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.

Snacks if needed: cucumber, carrots, mini sweet bell peppers, raw almonds or cashews, tangerines, apples, almond butter.

And for Beth the bulk of what she will be eating is as follows:

1. Chicken Taco Meat Salad (5 servings)

actually ate it without quinoa most of the week, but that is something you can put in this salad for sure!

The chicken in this form really goes a long way for me and this is usually me getting 2-3 organic chicken breasts.  You might remember seeing this meat from a previous Tasty Tuesday post from us.

Ingredients: Organic chicken, 4 cups low sodium chicken broth, and 1 packet of low sodium taco seasoning for just the meat.  For the salad I did green bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, and spinach leaves.

Approximate Cost per serving: Yah, Brent and I split the groceries so it made our receipts weird. I’m the slacker here. :-/

2. Turkey Meatloaf (4 servings)

Ingredients: 1.5 pounds of 99% lean turkey breast, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 cup frozen spinach, 3/4 cup of salsa, 1 egg (or two egg whites), 1/3 cup of oats, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of ground mustard, 2 tablespoons of dijon mustard, pepper to taste and 2 tablespoons of worchestire sauce.

3. Mexican Chicken Lime Soup (6 servings)

Ingredients: 2 Tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 onion (finely chopped), 6 gloves of garlic, 6 skinless, boneless chicken thighs cut into 1/2 inch pieces, 2 canned chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, 6 cups of chicken broth, 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, juice of 2 limes, salt and pepper and 1 hass avocado.

4. Egg Frittata (6 servings)

Ingredients: a dozen eggs, 1/2 of one roma tomato, one squash, 1/4 of green bell pepper, 1/4 of red bell pepper, garlic and salt & pepper to taste.

There was also turkey taco meat but I figure a lot of people know that one already and overall made about 29 meals to split between myself and Brent.

With some preparation on your part you can make doing this advocare 10 day cleanse easy to follow! We’ll be back with a post on our tips to surviving the cleanse! 🙂

Comments

  1. I have zero desire to ever do a cleanse (way too intimidating!) but y’all really make it look super easy with this. If I did want to do it, I wouldn’t have to come up with what to eat; I’d just come back to this post. Very helpful, and very interesting! Plus – doesn’t everything taste better out of a jar?!*

    • YES!!! Everything really does taste better out of a jar! Kind of amazing how that works out! Haha

    • The cleanse is not one of THOSE cleanses! It’s so gentle and there’s more number 1 potty breaks (Sorry for TMI!) But it is TOTALLY worth it! Just as someone who is going through it and is on the go all the time! (I’m doing it while on Jury Duty!) You really can have a lot of food on it!

  2. Did you have results using Shakeology during the cleanse? Any issues with it .

  3. I started this cleanse 6 days ago. I never thought I’d do a cleanse but several people in the office were doing it together so I joined in. I love it!!! Best part is it is sustainable and I will continue to eat this way after the 10 days. Thanks so much for the recipes, I appreciate it they look fantastic!

    • Woohoo! Congrats on the cleanse! Definitely understand that! Never thought I’d do a cleanse, but this one is WAY more realistic. Glad we could help you out, Stacey!

  4. I don’t like tuna…what can I replace it with? Thanks!

  5. Hi! Can you tell me if you have anything listed about how to make all of this stuff? I have the ingredients written out, but I’m not sure how to prepare everything… Thanks!

    • Hey, Kim! The crockpot chicken taco meat has a link to where we had previously posted the recipe – did you see that?
With the southwest quinoa salad you pretty much cook your quinoa, chop up the vegetables and then mix everything together. The same goes for the vegetable tuna salad – chop up the veggies then mix with the tuna and mayo. With the soup you’ll need to pre-cook your chicken which you could do in a variety of ways (boil it, cook in the crockpot) once you do that you’ll combine all of that in a large pot on the stove. The turkey meatloaf I’ll have to find that recipe for you. The Mexican Chicken Lime Soup recipe can be found here: http://kateolynch.com/home/clean-mexican-chicken-lime-soup/
Last, but not least the frittata is again just chopping things up, mixing it and then bake which I normally do in the oven on 375 degrees. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions! =)

  6. Did you ever find the recipe for the turkey meaoaf? I want to make it!

  7. Hello. Curious how to make the turkey meatloaf. I want to try to make it for my husband 🙂

  8. I am about to start the 24 day challenge and I am so excited! your recipes seem awesome so I believe i might copy yall! lol! I had a question on canning your salads and soups! Do you have to seal it a certain way when canning?

    • Yay!! You can definitely do it! Hope you see some good results! We did not can them in a certain way. We just like the whole using mason jars idea especially with salads it made it easier to make them and store. Plus we are fans of using as little plastic as possible and more glass containers!

  9. Any news on that turkey meatloaf? I am in day two of my challenge!

  10. Julie oates says:

Can you buy the cleansing products?

  11. how did you include things such as black beans, corn, etc. in your cleanse- they aren’t on the list?

    • Two things make it “ok” 1. The 80/20 rule. You want to be on 80% of the time. 2. Natural beans, lentils, and legumes are OK on the recommended food list but you want to keep to 1 serving, so really it isn’t breaking any rules it’s just not “the best” and vegetarians would use this option! Also starches are OK but again, no more than 1 serving per day during the 10 days. We would eat that meal maybe 1-2 days of the 10. There is very little corn/beans per serving in the recipes we have. They are easily removable as well if you want to stay closer to 100%. Hope that helps! Really you want to do what is the most feasible for you!! And if a little corn or a little beans helps.. You will not lose out!

  12. How much weight did you lose on the 10 day cleanse?

  13. We always try to minimize salt due to the bloating factor on a cleanse. Try non-salt things like mrs.dash as an alternative… If not it won’t kill you just keep eating clean!

  14. going to give it a try and going to use your recipes….thank you

    • Awesome!! Let us know how it goes!! Good luck!

      • I have to tell you that because of your delicious recipes, I took your advise, made many of them us ahead of time, and because of the convenience and the delicious food, I have been able to stick to this 100 percent, with no problem. I believe I could not have done these 8 days without your help. HOWEVER, I just made your Mexican chicken lime soup, and tasting it …wow…my lips are still burning, so I had to tone it down alittle. Love the soup though! again, thank you!

      • on the 11th day, lost 6 lbs!

  15. We have never heard that!! The replacement shakes and bananas are fine!

  16. The soup: what is the best way to cook it? How much of the seasonings do I put in?

  17. jessica hernandez says:

Just followed your menu for the week and made all recipes. I might be the only one that miss-read the Mexican Chicken Lime Soup recipe, but it was such a big mistake, I thought i’d comment. It calls for 2 OF THE CANNED chilis not 2 CANS OF chili. I’ve never had the chilis, so I had not idea how hot they were. My husband claims his tongue has a chemical burn. :/ Besides that, every recipe is great. I’m even freezing the “Too Hot Soup,” (which we are now calling it) and eating it with greek yogurt after the cleanse. It has a great taste! I will be making it again – correctly. 🙂

    • Yay!! So glad to hear this and SO sorry about the soup! Ummmm, I did that too and so did my sister and yes, it was bad! BAD!! Hope your hubby is OK!

  18. Brendon says:

My wife and I are starting the 24 Day challenge on Monday! Thanks for the recipes!! They all look great!!

  19. Nancy LeJeune says:

I have finished my Challenge & continue on product I am so excited because I have been looking for recipes. These look amazing. Can’t wait to make my shopping list! Thanks!!!

  20. My husband and I are starting tomorrow. I’m nervous.

  21. Everyone says we shouldnt feel hungry but we do…

    • The amount of water you drink plays a huge factor so make sure you are drinking a ton and If you are “dying” try eating an all veggie salad or a rice cake with pb.

  22. MissyMichelle says:

I just started the 10-day cleanse today. Do you make all these recipes at once and spread out as long as they last? Wasn’t sure if they would keep that long.

    • We try our best not just in a time of cleansing to prep our meals at the very least for breakfast and lunch, so we try and make everything Sunday then it’s ready to go all week. The most we prep for is 5 days total, so usually two times of meal prepping during the cleanse.
